Cuban official delegation to third round of conversations arrived in Washington DC

WASHINGTON DC,  May 20, 2015. During this Tuesday afternoon, May 19, the Cuban official delegation to the third round of conversations with United States arrived in Washington DC, led by Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, Director General of the United States division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The bilateral meeting, to be held this Thursday, May 21, is the continuation of the conversations carried out last January 22 in Havana and February 27, in Washington DC, as well as a follow up meeting held last March 16.

The just decision by President Obama to exclude Cuba from the list of States sponsors of international terrorism and the progresses achieved within the efforts to re-start the banking services to the Cuban Interests Section in the United States, could serve to create an appropriate bilateral and regional context to advance toward the re-establishment of the diplomatic relations and the opening of embassies.
